Emptiness - Film

This analogue film made by scratch technique on the footages of typical days expresses empty smile. I took photographs with Bolex camera and developed the film in darkroom. And then, I made sequences using Optical printer. I repeated the letters, ‘HA’ and ‘ha’, representing the laughter, and added smile shapes of eyes and mouth to convey the emotion of emptiness to audiences.
